The project aimed to further develop the platform so that it could be used as a content creation tool for authors, editors, and publishers. This would allow textbooks and learning materials to be created and shared interactively and in a multimedia format. Simultaneously, the platform was intended to serve as a learning environment where students and other learners could independently acquire the created learning content.
The learning platform was developed using state-of-the-art technologies to ensure maximum flexibility for future developments. By using Infrastructure as Code, the necessary infrastructure is defined as source code. This allows for rapid, error-free, and reproducible deployment – including the possibility of systematic testing through code reviews. A custom-developed Keycloak configurator and BICEP files enable fully automated deployment for smooth, scalable, and repeatable provisioning.
The comprehensive learning management system offers schools, individuals, and businesses practical learning content. Thanks to its simple and intuitive user interface, both content creation and learning itself are enjoyable.
Using the Avallain Author, content is automatically imported and processed into the system as an XML file. This results in standardized, UI-compliant learning modules that are ready to use immediately. These modules are displayed and accessed via modern, React-based frontend applications. Examples include the product designer for preparing digital content and the learning portal, which allows users to design their digital lessons flexibly and intuitively.
The agile Scrum methodology also provided significant added value. The collaboration particularly benefited from the geographical proximity and weekly personal refinement sessions.
